I had been a long time Firefox user. I had started off using Netscape rather than Internet Explorer. About a year and a half ago I switched to Google Chrome as my main browser here on my computers and devices. There were quirks and changes in Chrome that Google implemented that I did not like. I put up with those changes and found work arounds to these changes. For the last while I have notice some system issues across several systems here. I had also been having problems with VLC streaming a live feed while I was using Chrome.

I still had Firefox installed here and recently updated it to version 34. After doing some testing for a day with the extensions that I regularly use in both browsers running all day I discovered that Chrome x64 fully updated was using 1GB more memory than Fireofx with the same websites open. I went through the process of switching all the computers here to Firefox and enabling Firefox Sync between them.  After a couple of days several of the issues that I had been having including the live stream via VLC  issue has disappeared. As with any problems longer testing is required to ensure that indeed Chrome and its high memory useage was indeed the culprit.
